About Trust for Education and Development

India, with a population of over one billion, has very low literacy rate – particularly in the rural areas which contribute more than 75 percent of the Nation’s population.Educating the rural children of India is the need of the hour as literacy will help the underprivileged to improve their way of life and is the only hope for many children to break out of their parent’s low socio-economic conditions.

A focused and committed approach to help the children of these families will, therefore, be a significant harbinger of change into the District and its surrounding areas.

To this end, the Trust for Education and Development at Tarimala village is initiated in the year 2000 by a philanthropic family in this area.

The Trust has started two schools in memory of the Stalwart leaders Sri Tarimala Nagi Reddy and Sri Tarimala Ranga Reddy who were legends in their lifetime. These dedicated brothers worked hard during their lifetime to aid the poor farmers, the labourers, rural women and their children. It was their constant struggle. They organized movements for longer periods through which some relief and development for the poor has been brought between 1950 to 1980.In loving memory of their indomitable spirits, their families have come together to develop this Educational Trust.

However, in course of its interaction with the communities, the Trust has realized that the need for paying focused attention in the fields of Agriculture, Health, and Women and Youth – the reason being that situation of farmers in this drought-prone area is pathetic which is impacting on the social and economic status of the families. This in turn is adversely affecting on the Women and Youth.Poor economic conditions are becoming hurdles for the communities even to spend on their food and medicine along with children’s education.

With this outcome and feedback, the Vision and Mission of the Trust have been broadened to accommodate all these needy areas of support for the communities.
